Summer Solstice & Yoga

The Summer Solstice is a fiery, passionate, creative time, when the Sun reaches the fullness of its waxing cycle. This course invites you to connect with your own inner sun, as you step over the threshold and into the second half of the year. During the course you will be given the opportunity to celebrate your outer achievements and to reflect upon which seeds failed to germinate, and how you would do things differently next time. You will integrate your Summer Solstice wisdom into creative explorations of yoga practices, meditations and visualizations. Summer Solstice meditation questions will enable you to connect with the prevailing energy of the season and anticipate how best to direct your energy in the coming season of fruitfulness.

Praise for this course

“Having read the brilliant 'Yoga Through the Year' book I was intrigued to try out the Summer Solstice & Yoga Online Workbook. What appealed particularly was the self-study aspect …This flexibility means that I can access the course when it suits me and for as much or as little time as I have available…The short, carefully crafted modules will fit into the smallest of windows and there is plenty of new material which is not included in the 'Yoga Through the Year' book.

The layout is visually beautiful and very appealing - the lovely illustrations, colourful photos and short video clips really draw you in…I have found the course both stimulating and therapeutic and it has enabled me to become my own life coach by using Jilly's wise and gentle prompts. If you have been considering trying the course, I would say don't hesitate! I am sure you will love it as much as I do.”

The yoga practices in this 7-day challenge are inspired by the abundance of first harvest and they aim to help us to cultivate a sense of gratitude for the earth’s abundance.

Walking Meditation is one of the best ways I know to relieve stress and calm an anxious mind. It’s ideally suited for those times when you want to meditate but don’t want to spend more time sitting still. It’s also a way of getting some gentle exercise and getting outside to enjoy the beauty of the season. Many people find it’s a way of freeing up their ideas and of magically finding creative solutions to difficult problems.

Yoga to Bring Light into the Dark Days of Autumn & Winter

Each of the seven yoga practices on this challenge has been inspired by Samhain and with the intention of helping you to align your energy with the energy of the season.

Each of the yoga practices is set at a level that should be accessible to most people.

Once you've completed the yoga practice, you might want to follow it by either working with the meditation questions, or, if you are short of time, you could do those later in the day.
