Samhain 7-Day Challenge Course Info

The 7-Day Samhain Yoga Challenge starts on Monday 27th October 2025 and runs for seven days.

The challenge is an online, self-paced course that has been designed in such a way that you can fit it into even the busiest of days. On busy days you can devote as little as 10 minutes to the challenge. On quieter days, you can spend up to an hour on the challenge.

On each of the seven days of the challenge you will be offered 3 activities. You can choose to do one or more of the activities. The activities are as follows:

  • Each day you will be given a Samhain themed affirmation. You will be invited to coordinate the affirmation with the breath and integrate it into a simple yoga sequence. This will take you 5-10 minutes. On busy days, that might be all you choose to do. However, if you have more time, the yoga sequence plus affirmation will have prepared you for the subsequent Samhain yoga practice.
  • The Samhain themed yoga practices are short and sweet. They are all fairly gentle and so accessible to most levels of fitness and flexibility. They will take you between 15 and 30 minutes.
  • Each day you will be invited to contemplate several Samhain themed meditation questions. If you are short of time you can simply read the questions through. If you have more time you can meditate upon the questions, and if you wish to, you can write down any insights you have gained in your journal.

The beauty of this course is that if you miss any of the practices out, you can always come back to them over the next few weeks. And as the course is yours forever, you might want to return to the practices at Samhain time next year.

Samhain Affirmations & Simple Yoga Sequences

We begin each day of the challenge by working with a Samhain themed affirmation, coordinating it with our breathing, and integrating it into a simple yoga sequence. On some days we'll also use a sun visualisation, to lift your mood and help you to shake off seasonal blues. Using sun imagery in this way is uplifting and empowering and can expand your sense of what’s possible.


The affirmation and sun visualisation only take a few minutes to do, so they can be fitted into even the busiest day of the challenge.

Samhain Yoga Practices

Each of the seven yoga practices on this challenge has been inspired by Samhain and with the intention of helping you to align your energy with the energy of the season.


Each day of the challenge, I'd advise you to do the affirmation and simple yoga sequence first, and to do that before you do the actual yoga practice, because it will prepare you for the practice.


Each of the yoga practices is set at a level that should be accessible to most people. However, if you are an experienced yoga student or teacher, then feel free to play about with the yoga sequences and modify or intensify them to suit your own level of practice.


Once you've completed the yoga practice, you might want to follow it by either working with the meditation questions, or, if you are short of time, you could do those later in the day.

This online, self-paced course is suitable for all yoga practitioners. Each of the yoga practices has its own downloadable PDF of the day's yoga practice. For your home yoga practice this will be a great aide memoire. For yoga teachers- you'll have a ready made printable handout!

There are 14 yoga practice handouts. There are also meditation question and Samhain themes handouts. The course is yours forever, so you can return to these year after year.


Samhain Meditation Questions

Over the seven days of the challenge you will have the opportunity to engage with Samhain-inspired seasonal meditation questions. Below are the themes that you will be working with:

Day One: Winter warm-up for your relationships.

Day Two: Imagining a world where anything is possible.

Day Three: As the leaves fall from the trees, what do you wish to let go of?

Day Four: Nurturing and nourishing yourself over the winter.

Day Five: Bringing Light into the darkness.

Day Six: Honouring ancestors and your spiritual lineage.

Day Seven: Connecting with Nature and enjoying the beauty of the season.

It’s up to you how you engage with the meditation questions. I’m envisaging that you will spend some time each day meditatively writing (journaling) your responses to the questions. However, if you are short of time, you could simply read through the questions and trust that your subconscious mind will come up with answers to the questions (just before bedtime is a great time to do this). Or you could turn them over in your head anytime you have to walk anywhere. Or integrate them into your yoga practice, for example posing a question whilst you are staying in a yoga pose.
