Welcome and a few words before you start...

Hello,

Thanks so much for joining me! I'm Jilly Shipway, author of the Yoga Through the Year book, and I'll be guiding you through this course.

The best time to use the course is from early September to early October, in the Northern Hemisphere, or from early March to early April in the Southern Hemisphere.

You can view the study material on a mobile device but using a desktop or laptop will enhance your experience and enjoyment of the course.

The course is divided into six sections:

  1. The Wisdom of Autumn
  2. The Season of Harvest
  3. Balanced Planet and Balanced You
  4. The Autumn Art of Letting Go
  5. Tree Wisdom in Autumn
  6. Autumn Meditation Questions

Each section is divided into bitesize lessons. It's fine to either work your way systematically through the various sections, or you can dip in and out of the sections, choosing the themes that appeal to you most. Aim to approach each lesson in a relaxed, contemplative way. There's no hurry and you can work at your own pace. Give yourself time in between lessons to absorb and integrate the wisdom that you've tapped into.

The course is yours forever. So next year you can always revisit various lessons and give them more or less attention than you did this year. At different times in your life different lessons will call out to you and grab your attention. The learning is self-directed, so you're in charge. Although in some of the lessons there are opportunities to share your insights and wisdom with other course participants by commenting on the course forum.

If you need reminding of the basics, then revisit my free course, Seasonal Yoga an Introduction, which gives an overview of the Wheel of the Year, and a description of our Seasonal Yoga toolbox.

OK, you're all set to go! I hope you enjoy your exploration of the Autumn Equinox. If you encounter any difficulties, or wish to ask me a question relating to the course, you can email me: [email protected]

I'll always try to get back to you as soon as I can, although there may be a delay at times when I get a lot of enquiries.

Wishing you joy in your yoga practice throughout the seasons,

Jilly
